One person was transported to the hospital after an SUV drove completely through a garage, causing structural stability issues, in Lincolnshire Monday afternoon.
The Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District and Lincolnshire Police Department responded around 3:10 p.m. Monday to the 200 block of Brampton Lane in Lincolnshire.
Fire officials said it was reported that a car had crashed into a garage.
A 911 caller reported one person was still inside the vehicle and was possibly trapped.
Firefighters arrived and found a Lexus SUV in the side yard of a residence adjacent to an attached three-car garage.
The Lexus appeared to have been inside one of the garage stalls when it drove straight forward through a brick wall.
Paramedics evaluated the driver of the Lexus for injuries, fire officials said. They were not trapped in the vehicle.
The driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Fire crews inspected the home for stability issues and determined the garage was not structurally safe.
Technical rescue team members built shoring to support the roof of the garage, fire officials said.
The Lincolnshire Building Department responded to the scene. A tow truck removed the vehicle from the yard.
