Police drone operators successfully located an 81-year-old man who went missing on foot from an assisted living facility in Deer Park Monday afternoon.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said around 3 p.m. Monday they were searching for a missing person.
The man, an 81-year-old considered endangered, went missing from the Deer Park Village Senior Living, 21840 West Lake Cook Road in Deer Park.
He was last seen around 8:30 p.m. Sunday and was officially reported missing Monday afternoon.
The sheriff’s office asked the public for help in locating the man, who was reported to be on foot in pajamas.
The public was asked to call 911 if they saw him so authorities could check his well-being.
An active search was conducted for the 81-year-old that involved the use of police drones.
In an update around 4:40 p.m., the sheriff’s office said the man had been located by their drone operators.
The Lake Zurich Fire Rescue Department was requested to evaluate the man.
The sheriff’s office said the man was safe and thanked the public for their assistance.
