Newly released video captured part of an hour-long police pursuit of an armed robbery suspect that led over two dozen police cars on a chase on Interstate 94 that ended in Gurnee.

Norbert Thigpen, 36, of Burbank, was wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred around 5:30 p.m. Saturday at a CVS store near 87th Street and Cicero Avenue in Chicago, according to police radio traffic and officials.

The male suspect fired a single shot during the armed robbery, officers at the scene reported.

A tracker was placed with the stolen proceeds from the robbery and officers were able to track Thigpen in real-time.

Officers from the Justice Police Department attempted to stop the red 2021 Chevrolet Malibu on 79th Street but it fled from them.

A Chicago Police Department helicopter was called and began following the Chevrolet.

The Chevrolet turned around after crossing the state border and traveled back south on Interstate 94.
