A woman was attacked by two suspects who robbed her, threw her to the ground and battered her while she was putting her young child into the car in Waukegan.
The Waukegan Police Department responded around 6:04 p.m. Saturday to the 1700 block of Ash Street for a report of an aggravated robbery.
The victim reported to officers she was standing outside of her car with her car, according to a police report.
She was attempting to put her child into his car seat when she was approached from behind by two male suspects.
One of the males held what she believed to be a gun to her back, the report said.
They demanded money from her and she gave them her wallet and purse.
The suspects then threw the woman to the ground and began kicking her body, the report said.
The suspects fled on foot. It is unknown if they later got into a car to flee the area.
No one was taken into custody. The incident remains under investigation by the Waukegan Police Department.
