A fire engulfed a shed, deck and a fence in between a residence and a bar and pub on Northwest Highway in Fox River Grove Wednesday afternoon, fire officials said.
The Fox River Grove Fire Protection District responded around 4:51 p.m. Wednesday to the area of Lucky Lucy’s 7, 412 Northwest Highway in Fox River Grove, for a report of a brush fire.
Fox River Grove Fire Protection District Lt. Sean Hurt said crews arrived to find a shed, a deck around the shed, and a fence fully involved in flames.
The fire occurred in the backyard of a residence in the 400 block of Lucille Avenue, which is directly behind Lucky Lucy’s.
Firefighters used a deck gun from their fire engine to knock down a bulk of the fire and also pulled hose lines.
The fire, which was initially dispatched as a brush and upgraded to a structure fire response, was under control in approximately 10 minutes, Hurt said.
No injuries were reported and the residents of the home where the fire occurred behind were evacuated, Hurt said.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause but believe it was accidental in nature and possibly started in the shed, which was approximately 12 feet by eight feet.
The Barrington, Cary, Algonquin-Lake in the Hills and Huntley fire departments assisted. Crews remained on the scene for over an hour.
