UPDATE: Police say the man has been returned home safely.

The state police have issued an alert seeking the public’s help in locating an elderly man who went missing from his residence in Harvard Tuesday morning.

The Illinois State Police issued an endangered missing person advisory for 83-year-old James C. Reeves early Wednesday.

The Harvard Police Department is investigating Reeves’ disappearance.

Reeves is described as a male white, 5-foot-10 and weighing 200 pounds.

He has gray hair and was last seen wearing earmuffs, a gray jacket, gloves and black gym shoes.

Reeves was last seen in the 1300 block of Northfield Court in Harvard around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

He was driving a blue 2006 Honda Civic with Illinois license plate DV54066.

Officials say Reeves has a condition that places him in danger. They did not specify what type of condition.
