Three citizens came to the rescue of two ducks, who were possibly injured, after they were found sitting abandoned on the side of Route 120 in Lakemoor Friday morning.

The Lakemoor Police Department said they received a call about an injured duck on Route 120.

Officers responded and located two ducks near Sweet Melissa’s Pizza and Pub, 134 Rand Road.

The ducks appeared to be domesticated and initially were thought to belong to a farm in the area, police said.

The department asked that the owner of the ducks try to collect the animals or risk them going back onto Route 120 and being hurt.
