A driver is facing multiple charges after sheriff’s officials say he rolled his car over into a yard near Harvard and had to be flown to the hospital.

The Harvard Fire Protection District and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded around 7:19 p.m. on November 17 to the 7500 block of Oak Grove Road in unincorporated Harvard for a vehicle crash with injuries.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived to find a single-vehicle crash involving a maroon Pontiac G6, according to McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Communications Specialist Emily Matusek-Baker.

The Pontiac had rolled over onto its side in the yard of a residence, Matusek-Baker said.

The driver was identified as Jairo Vargas Carrasco, 29, of Marengo.

Firefighters had to extricate Carrasco, who was trapped in his vehicle.

A Flight For Life medical helicopter out of Wisconsin was requested and landed nearby.

He is scheduled to appear for an initial court hearing on December 13.
