Part of Route 41 was shut down after a semi-trailer truck’s load shifted and the truck and trailer both rolled over in Lake Forest Tuesday morning, officials said.

A Countryside Fire Protection District ambulance was responding to a structure fire in Highwood around 11:40 a.m. Tuesday.

The ambulance crew stopped after coming upon a rollover crash near Route 41 and Route 60 in Lake Forest.

Lake Forest Deputy Police Chief Michael Lange told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that a semi-truck was traveling southbound on Route 41 from Route 60.

The truck and trailer rolled over near the curve on Route 41 south of the intersection.

Lange said it appeared the load in the trailer shifted and caused the truck to roll over.

The semi-truck slid for a distance after rolling over and came to a rest on the right shoulder.

The trailer appeared to be loaded with large rolls of paper.

No light poles, traffic lights or signs were damaged, Lange said. The only damage sustained was to the truck and trailer.

The right lane of southbound Route 41 was shut down while Ernie’s Wrecker Service responded and performed a recovery operation.

Lange said he did not know how long it took to clear the crash from Route 41.

No injuries were reported and the truck was only occupied by its driver at the time of the incident. No other vehicles were involved.
