Terrence E. Fabino, 60, of Gages Lake.

A Gages Lake man is facing charges after officials say he solicited child pornography from a child and also uploaded child sexual abuse material to online platforms.

Terrence E. Fabino, 60, of Gages Lake, was charged with child pornography involving a victim under 13, a Class X felony.

Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney Mary Daly said law enforcement received three separate cyber tips involving criminal sexual abuse material being posted online.

Investigators traced the origin of the uploads and learned Fabino was responsible for uploading the child pornography to Kick and Instagram, Daly said.

Two cell phones and a tablet were recovered during a search warrant.

Fabino admitted that he was trading child pornography, Daly said.

Investigators also learned Fabino had been communicating via email with a child.

The child had sent Fabino a video of herself engaged in a sex act, Daly said.

Fabino also has an active warrant for seven felony counts of soliciting intimate representation from a minor.

Prosecutors argued there were no conditions of release that could ensure the community’s safety.

A public defender for Fabino said the man’s wife is dependent on him for financial support and caretaking.

Lake County Judge Theodore Potkonjak ordered Fabino held in the Lake County Jail pending trial.

“Frankly he’s a danger to everybody out there,” the judge said before announcing his ruling.

The man faces six to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections should he be convicted of the charge against him.
