Police are warning residents to be on the lookout for a U-Haul cargo van that is wanted in connection with several crimes in the Barrington Hills area.

The Barrington Hills Police Department said they are investigating a criminal trespass to vehicle incident.

Two suspects entered an unlocked car near Old Hart Road and Oak Knoll Road in Barrington Hills before fleeing.

The incident occurred around 3:38 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Police reviewed automated license plate reader cameras in the village and found a suspect vehicle.

The vehicle, a 9-foot U-Haul cargo van, was recorded within the village in the early morning hours.

The same van, which has an Arizona license plate, was also recorded in the village in the early morning hours of Monday, officials said.

During that morning, the suspects stole a vehicle in the village.

A further investigation also revealed that the same vehicle was used in an unrelated crime in another jurisdiction.

Police are asking residents to call 911 immediately if they observe a vehicle matching the description.
