An employee was injured and transported to the hospital after becoming pinned between two vehicles in the service garage of a car dealership in Gurnee.
The Gurnee Police Department and Gurnee Fire Department responded around 4:50 p.m. Monday to the Gurnee Hyundai, 6251 Grand Avenue, for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries.
Gurnee Police Department Public Information Officer Shawn Gaylor said officers arrived and learned a male victim in his late 50s was injured.
The man had become trapped between two vehicles within the service garage.
Officers learned that a porter had been repositioning a vehicle and parked it in a new location, Gaylor said.
The parked vehicle collided with another vehicle in the garage, leading to the victim becoming trapped between the two cars.
He was reported to be conscious and breathing at the scene, fire officials said. He was unpinned from the vehicles when firefighters arrived.
Paramedics provided immediate medical assistance and transported the victim to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Gaylor said.
The victim suffered a leg injury as a result of the incident. His injuries were believed to be non-life-threatening.
Gaylor said officers are actively conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
