Law enforcement from Lake County and Kenosha County responded to an armed robbery at a gas station on the border of the two counties and a search for the suspect continues.

The Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin Police Department said they responded around 10:45 p.m. Thursday to a report of an armed robbery at the BP gas station located at Russell Road and Sheridan Road.

Officers arrived and learned a suspect armed with a handgun robbed the gas station.

The suspect fled on foot prior to officers arriving on the scene.

The area was saturated by police officers and sheriff’s deputies from Illinois and Wisconsin.

The suspect was able to escape “for now,” the police department said. “Thanks to our brothers & sisters to the south for coming out to assist us.”

Authorities released surveillance images of the wanted suspect on Friday.
