Minor injuries were reported after a crash sent one of the vehicles colliding into the front of an insurance office in Waukegan and damaging the building.
The Waukegan Police Department and Waukegan Fire Department responded around 3:15 p.m. Friday to the area of Lewis Avenue and Washington Street for a vehicle crash with injuries.
Officers arrived and found a vehicle crash that occurred in the intersection.
One of the vehicles, a white SUV, subsequently crashed into the building at 1820 Washington Street, according to a police report.
The building, which is occupied by Seguros Tepeyac Insurance Agency, sustained structural damage.
A large side window and the front door were broken.
Only minor injuries to the drivers involved were reported. No one inside the building was struck by the vehicle, the report said.
The Waukegan Building Department was called to the scene and evaluated the structure.
The report said code enforcement officers recommended the building have structural support put in place before the vehicle was removed and towed.
