Wayne M. Frazier, 26, of Chicago.

A man was arrested in Riverwoods after authorities say a woman was attacked and robbed after the two suspects followed her home from a bank in Buffalo Grove.

Wayne M. Frazier, 26, of Chicago, was arrested on a warrant on Sunday for a robbery that occurred in the 500 block of West Dundee Road in Wheeling.

Wheeling Deputy Police Chief Al Steffen said a woman was at a bank in Buffalo Grove on February 14.

Frazier and a second suspect followed the victim to her apartment building in Wheeling from the bank, Steffen said.

The two suspects accosted the victim in the parking garage of her apartment building.

Steffen said the woman was thrown to the ground during the robbery and the suspects stole cash and other items. The victim suffered minor injuries.

Video evidence was recovered and investigators coordinated with other police departments.

Investigators were able to positively identify Frazier as one of the suspects, Steffen said.

An arrest warrant was sought and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved one count of robbery against Frazier.

The Riverwoods Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Frazier in the early morning hours on Sunday.

Frazier was taken into custody pursuant to the warrant and turned over to the Wheeling Police Department.

Steffen said Frazier is also suspected of committing similar offenses in Arlington Heights, Summit and Berwyn. Charges are pending in those cases.

He was transported to the Cook County Jail and remains held pending a court hearing on Wednesday.
