Police are investigating after two separate armed robberies were recently reported at a hotel and a phone store in Waukegan.

The Waukegan Police Department responded around 10 p.m. last Thursday to the Rodeway Inn, 630 North Green Bay Road in Waukegan for a report of an armed robbery.

A police report obtained Tuesday said the offender followed an employee into the office area.

The suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the employee.

The suspect was given cash before fleeing westbound from the hotel, the report said.

The Waukegan Police Department also responded around 1:15 p.m. on February 24 to the Boost Mobile, 2001 Washington Street, for a report of an armed robbery.

A sole offender entered the store and robbed it at gunpoint, the report said.

The suspect took an unknown amount of cash and multiple cell phones.

The report said the masked offender, who was carrying a backpack, fled the store southbound on Wisconsin Avenue on foot.
