The coroner has identified a 46-year-old man and is still working to determine how he died after his body was found in a ditch near his parked motorcycle in Antioch Wednesday.

The Antioch Police Department and Antioch Fire Department responded around 6:02 a.m. Wednesday to the area of Route 173 and Deep Lake Road.

A 911 caller reported a person lying in a ditch near the intersection and not moving.

Officers discovered a motorcycle parked alongside northbound Deep Lake Road just north of Route 173.

The motorcycle appeared to have suffered some sort of mechanical failure, police officials said.

The body of an adult male was discovered lying in the brush approximately 40 feet away from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police officials said an initial investigation by the Lake County Coroner’s Office did not find any outward signs of foul play.

Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek on Thursday identified the subject as William Webster, 46, of Lake Villa.

Banek said a preliminary autopsy result showed Webster did not suffer any significant injuries. Final autopsy results are pending toxicology studies.

Police detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.

Police officials said there is no indication warranting public concern for safety.
