The Cary fire and police departments are hosting a community blood drive on Saturday and giving away coupons for free pints of Culver’s custard to those who donate.
The Cary Fire Protection District and Cary Police Department are hosting the blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The event will be hosted at the Cary Fire Protection District Station 1 classroom, located at 400 Cary Algonquin Road in Cary.
The need for blood donations is ongoing and a single donation can save up to three lives.
Cary Fire Protection District Communication Specialist Alex Vucha said the fire district always looks forward to community blood drive events as they shine light on the vital need for donations.
Blood collected at the events may be used to provide lifesaving supplies for trauma, cancer or surgery patients.
“This combined Cary Fire and Cary Police event is another way we proudly serve our community,” Vucha said.
Donors will receive a coupon for a pint of frozen Culverโs custard โ “A Pint For A Pint.”
Donors will also be eligible for a chance to win one of 20 gift cards worth $420 each.
