A fire caused $120,000 in damage and temporarily closed Dog n Suds Drive-In hotdog restaurant in downtown Grayslake early Saturday morning, authorities said.
The Grayslake Police Department initially responded at 3:43 a.m. Saturday to Grayslake Dog n Suds Drive-In, 454 Center Street, for a burglar alarm.

The Grayslake Fire Protection District was immediately alerted.
Firefighters arrived in minutes and found heavy smoke coming from the chimney and roof area, Brooks said.
Crews deployed a hose line and gained entry to the front of the restaurant to initiate an aggressive interior attack.
Crews located the seat of the fire in the rear of the building and extinguished it.
The restaurant owner responded to the scene after remotely monitoring the building from his phone and learning of the fire, Brooks said.
The Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District assisted the Grayslake Fire Protection District with fire operations at the scene.
An ambulance from the Gurnee Fire Department covered for Grayslake while crews worked the incident.
No one was injured, Brooks said.
Fire officials said that damage is estimated at approximately $120,000.
The fire remains under investigation and the cause of the fire was not immediately available.
Brooks added that the fire was not suspicious in nature.
The building is salvageable and is not a total loss, fire officials said.
