A woman was injured and had to be extricated from her vehicle after it rolled over during a crash near The Huntley Dairy Mart on Route 47 in Huntley Thursday afternoon.

The Huntley Fire Protection District and Huntley Police Department responded around 12:17 p.m. Thursday to the area of The Huntley Dairy Mart, 10706 North Route 47, for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find a two-vehicle crash, according to Huntley Fire Protection District Communication Specialist Alex Vucha.

One of the vehicles had rolled over and came to rest on its passenger side.

Vucha said the vehicle was heavily damaged and one person was trapped inside of it.

Firefighters quickly stabilized the vehicle and used extrication tools to remove the roof.

A woman was safely removed and transported to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Huntley with moderate injuries.

Vucha said no other injuries were reported in the crash.

The northbound lanes of Route 47 between Main Street and Algonquin Road were shut down for approximately 30 minutes.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Huntley Police Department.
