Three people were injured after a porch attached to a home collapsed during a gathering near Spring Grove Saturday afternoon, fire officials said.

The Fox Lake Fire Protection District responded around 2:35 p.m. Saturday to the 38500 block of North Lincoln Avenue in unincorporated Spring Grove.

Fox Lake Fire Protection District Lt. Corinne Bauer said crews arrived to find a second-story porch had collapsed.

Two adult victims were transported by ambulance to a local hospital. They were stable and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

A third adult victim who was injured was transported by car to the hospital, Bauer said.

Two other people involved declined transport to the hospital.

Bauer said a large gathering was being held at the residence at the time of the incident.

Bauer described the collapse of the porch as a “full collapse.” She said it is unclear yet what exactly caused it.
