A child was arrested after he punched a fellow classmate and then attacked two school administrators at the SEDOL campus in Gages Lake, authorities said.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded on April 22 to a school on the Special Education District of Lake County (SEDOL) campus in the 18000 block of West Gages Lake Road in Gages Lake.

Lake County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli said a 14-year-old student battered two staff members at the school and fled on foot.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived and located the juvenile in the area of Gages Lake Road and Old Gages Lake Road.

Deputies investigated and found the juvenile punched a student in a classroom, Covelli said.

He was escorted to the principal’s office and his family was called.

Covelli said the student refused to go with his family and pushed a school administrator before punching a second administrator in the face.
