Police in the Lake County area are on the lookout for a vehicle that struck and critically injured a pedestrian in Chicago before fleeing the scene.

The Chicago Police Department distributed a police bulletin earlier this week regarding an attempt to locate a hit-and-run vehicle.

The incident occurred last Saturday around 3:49 a.m. in the 2100 block of West Armitage Avenue in Chicago.

Police found a 40-year-old woman in the crosswalk. She was critically injured.

The victim was struck by a 2009-2012 Bentley Continental Flying Spur sedan, which fled the scene, the bulletin said.

The victim sustained trauma to the body and was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition.

Area Five Detectives are investigating and no one was reported to be in custody.

The dark-colored Bentley was last known to have Illinois dealer plate DL6118C.
