Three people have been charged after they were arrested by a SWAT team that executed a search warrant in McHenry Wednesday morning that led to drugs being found.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office sent an alert around 9:35 a.m. Wednesday about heavy police activity on Prairie Avenue in McHenry.

The sheriff’s office asked people to avoid the area.

The McHenry Police Department also asked people to avoid the area while the sheriff’s office “conducted an operation” in the 5000 block of Prairie Avenue.

“There is no danger to the public at this time and the situation is contained to a single residence,” the police department said.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Jurisdictional SWAT team and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force responded to the scene and were seen converging around the residence.

A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that the agency was conducting a search warrant at the home and three people were arrested.

Those three included Robert S. Pelikan, 58; George Reynolds, 51; and Danyelle S. Sandre, 52. All three reside at the residence where the warrant occurred, according to court records.

Around 11:10 a.m., the sheriff’s office sent an updated alert saying the police activity had been resolved and the scene was cleared.

Reynolds was charged with felon in possession of a weapon, bringing a controlled substance into a penal institution, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and obstructing a peace officer.

Pelikan and Sandre were charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court said Sandre was found in possession of under 15 grams of a substance containing cocaine.

She also possessed glass stem smoking pipes containing a white powdery residue that tested positive for the presumptive presence of cocaine, the complaint said.

A separate criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court said Pelikan was also found in possession of under 15 grams of a substance containing cocaine and possessed glass stem smoking pipes containing a white powdery residue that tested positive for the presumptive presence of cocaine.

A separate criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court said Reynolds was found with a pair of brass knuckles, which he is not allowed to possess because he is a convicted felon with a prior unlawful use of a weapon conviction in Lake County.

Reynolds possessed less than 15 grams of a substance containing cocaine and fentanyl, the complaint said.

He brought the substance containing fentanyl into the McHenry County Jail following his arrest, the complaint said.

The complaint said Reynolds also obstructed police by refusing to provide the passcode to his cell phone during the execution of the search warrant.

The three defendants are scheduled to make initial court appearances Thursday afternoon.
