Police were called after a bull escaped from its home and was spotted roaming around a neighborhood in Mundelein Monday morning.

The Mundelein Police Department said in a social media post around 7:40 a.m. Monday there was “udder chaos” on the morning commute.

“Nothing gets you mooving on Monday like a stray cow call,” the department said.

The department shared two photographs of the stray animal in their post.

The bull was seen roaming in the side yard between two homes in Mundelein while staring at the person taking the photographs.

The police department told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that the bull was returned to its owner after officers responded.

The animal lives in unincorporated Mundelein and is a repeat offender in escaping.

In August, a 1,600-pound bull escaped in Barrington Hills and was on the loose for a week before it was captured by a professional wrangler.
