A 67-year-old Holiday Hills motorcyclist died of blunt force injuries he sustained in a crash with a minivan on Route 176 near Dean Street in Lakewood, authorities said.

McHenry County Coroner Dr. Michael Rein said an autopsy conducted Tuesday showed motorcyclist Claude Bulava died of the blunt force injuries received in the crash Saturday afternoon.

Rein said toxicology results are still pending.

Lakewood Police said in a news release they were dispatched to Rt. 176 and Dean Street due to a crash involving a motorcycle and minivan at 2:22 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.

Bulava and an unidentified female passenger of the motorcycle were unconscious in the roadway when Lakewood Police, Woodstock Fire/Rescue Department and the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department arrived on scene, authorities said.

A bystander performed CPR on Bulava before the Holiday Hills man was transported to Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital where he later died, authorities said.

The female motorcycle passenger was airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in critical condition Saturday, authorities said.

Her condition remains unknown at this time.

The driver of the minivan was transported to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

His condition also remains unknown at this time.

The roadway was closed in both directions by the McHenry County Sheriffโ€™s Office and the Illinois Department of Transportation until 6:20 p.m. Saturday evening, authorities said.

The Coronerโ€™s Office is continuing to work with Lakewood Police Department, Woodstock Fire Department, and Northwestern Woodstock during this investigation.
