A Lake Barrington man was killed in a crash after his motorcycle left the roadway and hit a tree on Roberts Road, Lake County Coroner officials announced.

Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek said in a news release Tower Lakes Police Department and Wauconda Fire District responded to Roberts Road approximately 150 feet west of North Paddock Lane for a single-vehicle motorcycle crash at 6:18 p.m. on Monday, May 27.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel found a motorcycle in the tree line near the roadway, officials said.

A preliminary investigation and witness statements revealed a 2008 Harley Davidson was traveling eastbound on Roberts Road when the motorcycle left the roadway while navigating a curve and struck a tree south of the road.

The operator of the motorcycle, identified as Mark Demski, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Based on the seriousness of the crash, the Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) of Lake County has been called in to assist with the crash investigation.

The crash remains under investigation by the Tower Lakes Police Department and MCAT.
