A missing juvenile camping in Ingleside was returned to their parents, thanks to a little help from Canine Odin.

Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli said officers were called to the 26700 block of Nipperink Road in Ingleside after 8 p.m. Wednesday for a missing juvenile who had wandered away from their group.

Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy Matthew Savage and K9 Odin responded to the camp and started tracking the juvenile, Covelli said.

Covelli said it was dark and raining, but Canone Odin picked up a track of the child from an article of clothing left behind.

Canine Odin tracked the missing camper for nearly a mile and located her in a bushy area on the outskirts of the camp property.

The girl was unharmed and reunited with her mother.
