One person was injured in a single-vehicle crash with entrapment in Marengo, authorities said.

The Marengo Fire & Rescue District responded to the 18600 block of Harmony Road for a reported single-vehicle rollover crash with entrapment at 5:51 p.m. Sunday, June 9, said Alex Vucha, Communication Specialist with the Marengo Fire & Rescue District.

While responding to the scene, Vucha said crews were advised a male driver appeared to have been ejected from the vehicle and was unconscious.

Crews arrived within minutes and observed the serious crash with an adult male lying unconscious in the grassy ditch, Vucha said.

Paramedics quickly began evaluating the maleโ€™s injuries while firefighters searched the immediate area to confirm there were no additional patients, Vucha said.

A medical helicopter was requested and landed in a nearby field, Vucha said.

At the time of transport, the adult male driver was conscious but suffering from various serious injuries, Vucha said.

The driver of the vehicle was airlifted via LifeNet to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Vucha said.

No additional patients or parties were reported, he said.

The accident is under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriffโ€™s Office.
