One person was injured after striking a house with his vehicle on Barnard Mill Road late Sunday, authorities said.

Fire Chief Mike Weber of the Wonder Lake Fire Protection District said the pickup truck was heading west in the 7100 block of Barnard Mill Road at about 8:15 p.m. Sunday when he failed to negotiate a turn and hit a sign, a house, a parked car, a motorcycle, drove through a field and hit a tree before coming to a rest.

Weber said the driver of the pickup was flown via LifeNet Helicopter to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in critical but stable condition.

His condition is unknown this morning, Weber said.

No one was injured in the house or yard where the accident took place, Weber said.

The house was uninhabitable after the crash, Weber said.

Margaret Thomas said on the Lake & McHenry County Scanner Facebook page that she owns the house and was thankful she wasn’t harmed.
