An elderly man was flown to the hospital with serious injuries after he fell down a flight of stairs at a residence in Cary Thursday evening.
The Cary Fire Protection District responded around 10:11 p.m. Thursday to the 100 block of East Ross Avenue in Cary for a 911 call of a fall victim.
Cary Fire Protection District Communication Specialist Alex Vucha said paramedics arrived to find an elderly male victim had fallen down the stairs.
The man had fallen down a full flight of stairs in the residence.
He suffered serious injuries in the incident and a medical helicopter was requested.
Vucha said the LifeNet medical helicopter landed in a field between Kaper Drive and Industrial Drive near the Cary Village Hall.
An ambulance transported the victim to the landing zone and he was transferred to the helicopter.
The helicopter then flew the male victim to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, which is a trauma center.
Vucha said it was not known at the time of transport whether the man’s injuries were life-threatening or not.
