Two drivers were hospitalized with serious injuries after a head-on crash on Randall Road in Algonquin Saturday evening, police said.

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District and Algonquin Police Department responded around 9:43 p.m. Saturday to the area of Randall Road and Harnish Drive for a vehicle crash with injuries.

Algonquin Police Department Sgt. Johnny Beltran said the crash involved two vehicles north of the intersection.

An investigation determined that a white sedan was traveling southbound on Randall Road from Bunker Hill Drive.

The white sedan lost control while traveling southbound and struck the curb, Beltran said.

The sedan then crossed over the center median, resulting in a head-on collision with a dark-colored SUV which was traveling northbound on Randall Road from Harnish Drive.

Beltran said a third vehicle was later learned to have received collateral damage as a result of the primary crash.

The incident remains under investigation by the Algonquin Police Department and Kane County Crash Assistance Response Team (KCART).
