A 44-year-old man is accused of walking into a bar on the Woodstock Square and pointing a loaded crossbow at a victim’s head Thursday evening.

Luiz A. Carrion, 44, of Woodstock, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct.

A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court said the incident occurred around 10:50 p.m. Thursday.

Carrion carried a loaded crossbow into The Cabin, 223 North Benton Street in Woodstock, with the intent to use it, the complaint said.

Carrion pointed the crossbow to the head of a male victim, the complaint said.

Carrion left the bar yelling and cursing at people, the complaint added.

The Woodstock Police Department arrested Carrion and transported him to the McHenry County Jail.

The charges against Carrion are non-detainable under the SAFE-T Act.

Prosecutors asked the court to order Carrion to have no contact with two people and the establishment and surrender all dangerous weapons in his possession to the sheriff’s office within 24 hours of release.

Prosecutors also asked that Carrion complete a psychological evaluation and follow all recommendations.

McHenry County Judge Carl Metz granted the requests and also ordered Carrion to not consume alcohol.

Carrion was not released from the jail because prosecutors filed a petition to revoke his pre-trial release in a separate case.

In that case, Carrion is accused of striking a woman in her hand, knocking her phone to the ground, in the 600 block of East Calhoun Street in Woodstock on September 16.

A hearing on the petition to revoke pre-trial release is scheduled for Monday morning.
