A woman was seriously injured and flown to the hospital after she was kicked by a horse on a farm near Woodstock Monday afternoon, fire officials said.

The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded around 12:37 p.m. Monday to Entropy Farm, 4316 North Queen Anne Road in unincorporated Woodstock, for a report of a traumatic injury call.

Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Communication Specialist Alex Vucha said paramedics arrived and were directed to the pasture at the farm.

They found an adult female who had a head injury caused by a horse, Vucha said.

Fire department radio traffic indicated the woman had been kicked in the head by the horse.

A LifeNet medical helicopter was requested due to the traumatic injury, Vucha said.

The helicopter landed nearby at Galt Airport and the ambulance transported the woman to the airport to meet the helicopter.

Vucha said the woman was airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious injuries.
