Police say they are investigating after suspects committed a smash-and-grab burglary at a popular tobacco store, which recently opened, in Round Lake Beach.
The incident happened just after 3 a.m. Thursday at Smokers Wonderland, 809 East Rollins Road in Round Lake Beach.
The Round Lake Beach Police Department said they received a burglar alarm from the business at 3:09 a.m.
Officers arrived and found a front door that had been broken.
Several glass cases were broken into and merchandise was stolen from them, police said.
The owner was called to the scene after officers arrived. An estimated value of the products stolen was not released.
Reached by phone Friday, a person working at the business claimed that no burglary occurred.
The worker said that the business is open to customers.
The store opened in May and hosted a grand opening on June 15, just over a month ago.
Police say they are investigating the burglary and working to identify the suspects involved.
