A Marengo man was killed after he was ejected from a tractor which he lost control of while performing maintenance work on trails in a small town in Wisconsin.
The Iowa County, Wisconsin 911 center received a call around 1:02 p.m. Friday for an accident involving a tractor on Amacher Hollow Road in the town of Arena, which is 25 miles northwest of Madison.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol and Arena Fire and EMS responded to the call.
Iowa County Sheriff Michael Peterson said initial reports indicated a possible deceased male next to a subcompact utility tractor.
An investigation showed that Anthony Massuci, 81, of Marengo, was maintaining recreational trails on private property in the town of Arena.
Massuci lost control of the tractor and was ejected from the machinery, Peterson said. He died from his injuries.
The Iowa County Coroner’s Office and Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home were called to the scene.
Peterson said the tractor had been traveling on a slight decline when it hit some erosion ruts, causing it to roll over.
