The two apartments closest to the stairwell sustained heavy damage.

Firefighters arrived to find a small electrical fire involving a treadmill in the basement of the home, Pellitteri said.
The fire, which possibly started due to a strip cord, was extinguished with a fire extinguisher and a hose line was not needed.
Pellitteri said three people were home at the time and one of them was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
The home remains habitable after firefighters ventilated the smoke.
