The sheriff has released a photo and the identity of a homicide suspect who is on foot and considered armed and dangerous amid a manhunt search in Lake Barrington.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said they and other law enforcement agencies are actively searching for 38-year-old Osceola Little.
Little is described as being 5-foot-10 and approximately 165 pounds. He was reported to be wearing a white cutoff t-shirt.
The incident began around 12:40 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Route 14 and Pepper Road in Barrington.
Officials said Little fled on foot from the Chicago Police Department from Swiss Automation, 1020 West Northwest Highway in Barrington.
Little was believed to be the driver of a newer-model dark blue Chevrolet pickup truck, which was located in an entrance road to Swiss Automation.
A female subject who was believed to be a passenger in the truck also fled from the vehicle before being taken into custody around 2:10 p.m. at the nearby Speedway gas station.
Investigators had been tracking the Chevrolet pickup truck in connection with a homicide in Chicago that occurred in the past day, according to sources and police radio traffic.
The vehicle had fled from police Tuesday morning in a western Chicago suburb.
The Chevrolet was tracked to the Barrington area and fled from Barrington police officers.
It was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run crash near Route 14 and Pepper Road before being located nearby at Swiss Automation.
The sheriff’s office said Little is reported to be armed and dangerous.
Police canines and drones from numerous agencies have been called in to assist with the search.
The Barrington High School, along with other District 220 schools, were placed on soft lockdown due to the incident.
People were asked to avoid the area of Pepper Road north of Route 14 to Kelsey Road as the incident remained ongoing Tuesday afternoon.
Anyone who spots Little should immediately call 911 and do not approach him.
