A medical helicopter landed near Johnsburg High School to transport a victim injured in a fall near McHenry Tuesday afternoon.

The McHenry Township Fire Protection District responded around 12:47 p.m. Tuesday to the 300 block of Burr Avenue in unincorporated McHenry.

Fire crews received a report of a fall victim at a residence.

A medical helicopter was initially placed on standby and then requested to respond to the incident.

A landing zone was set up by fire crews at Hiller Park just north of Johnsburg High School.

The LifeNet medical helicopter landed at the park around 1:15 p.m. and the injured victim was transferred to the helicopter.

The helicopter flew the victim to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, which is a Level 1 trauma center.

Fire officials could not provide further details on the victim’s condition or details on what led to the fall.
