A woman has been charged with driving under the influence and causing a rollover crash that left three others, some of which were ejected, with serious injuries near Woodstock.

The incident happened around 2:07 a.m. on May 27 in the 11200 block of Charles Road in unincorporated Woodstock.

Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Communication Specialist Alex Vucha said at the time that firefighters arrived within six minutes and found a single-vehicle rollover crash.

Four occupants were in the car at the time of the crash and two of them appeared to have been ejected.

Vucha said one of the occupants was trapped inside the car and another had self-extricated.

Firefighters extricated the trapped passenger within four minutes and began medical treatment.

Four medical helicopters were requested, Vucha said, but all declined due to weather conditions.

The four victims were transported by ambulance to local hospitals with injuries ranging from serious to critical, Vucha said.

The driver of the Mitsubishi sedan, Nayana A. Morales-Williams, 18, of Woodstock, was charged in June with misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Late last month, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office completed its investigation into the crash and the charges were upgraded to a felony.

Morales-Williams was charged with aggravated driving under the influence causing great bodily harm, court records show.

A warrant was issued for her arrest and she was taken into custody last week.

McHenry County Judge Carl Metz released Morales-Williams from custody after prosecutors did not file a petition to detain her pending trial.

The judge ordered Morales-Williams to refrain from drinking alcohol or using drugs, obtain a substance abuse evaluation and not drive a vehicle unless it is equipped with a breath alcohol interlock ignition device.
