No one was injured but a Lakemoor family was displaced after a fire swept through their home, authorities said.

The McHenry Township Fire Protection District was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 500 block of S. Longbeach Rd. at about 10:40 p.m. Thursday, authorities said.

Crews arrived at the home within five minutes and found a one-story residence with heavy fire in the garage, authorities said.

The attic of the facility was also involved in the fire, authorities said.

All residents were able to get out of the home before firefighters arrived, authorities said.

Three pets were rescued from the burning structure by firefighters, authorities said.

Firefighters deployed exterior hose lines and knocked the fire down, then began an aggressive interior attack. Simultaneously, a search was conducted inside the home, authorities said.

The fire was upgraded to a MABAS Box Alarm due to a lack of fire hydrants in the area, authorities said.
