Charges of aggravated battery to a person over 60 years of age and a second aggravated battery charge for strangulation were dismissed as part of the plea deal reached on Sept. 12.

Meneses also pleaded guilty to violating state sex offender registry laws by not reporting a change of address, court records show.

Court documents show Meneses was accused of placing his hands around the throat of a person and applying enough pressure to impede normal breathing, court records show.

He was also accused in the complaint of lifting the victim off the ground and slamming him into a table hard enough to shatter a nearby glass vase.

The court documents also claim the victim, who was over 60 years of age, was almost “choked” out.

Meneses was also accused of hitting the victim in the head three times with a frying pan, resulting in swelling, bruises, and a cut on his face at his hairline.

In exchange for the plea deal, charges were dropped against Meneses in a separate case where he is alleged to have dumped fruit juice on two victims and allegedly threw the juice container at them after being asked to provide a receipt or proof of purchase while at the service desk inside Johnsburg Walmart.
