A semi-truck rolled over in a roundabout along Route 23 in Marengo just one week after another semi-truck rolled over in the same location, authorities said.

The Marengo Police Department and Marengo Fire and Rescue Districts responded around 6:08 a.m. Monday to the intersection of Route 23 and Harmony Road in Marengo for a rollover crash.

Marengo Fire and Rescue Districts Communication Specialist Alex Vucha said crews arrived to find a semi-truck that had overturned in the roundabout.

The male driver was able to get out of the vehicle on his own before firefighters arrived.

He was uninjured and refused transport to the hospital, Vucha said.

The truck was transporting gravel at the time and no hazardous materials were released.

The Marengo Police Department asked motorists to use caution in the area due to the crash.

The roadway was open but a closure went into effect when cleanup crews arrived at the scene.

Police said the crash scene was cleared just after 8 a.m., nearly two hours after the crash occurred.

The incident happened exactly one week after another semi-truck, which was carrying sand, rolled over at the same location.

The driver in that crash suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital.

A heavy-duty wrecker service was called to the scene to upright the semi-truck and clear the sand from the roadway.
