An injured woman had to be extricated from her car after the car drove off a parking lot down a steep embankment and rolled over in Buffalo Grove Monday morning.
The Buffalo Grove Police Department and Buffalo Grove Fire Department responded around 8:40 a.m. Monday to NCH Buffalo Grove Outpatient Care Center, 15 McHenry Road, for a vehicle crash with entrapment.
Fire officials said crews arrived to find a car that drove off of the parking lot into a wooded area.
The car traveled down a steep embankment and rolled onto its side on the southwest corner of the parking lot at the medical office building.
The driver, who was the sole occupant, was trapped inside the car, fire officials said. She was reported to be conscious.
Firefighters worked for approximately 20 minutes to stabilize the vehicle and extricate the adult female from the small SUV.
Fire officials said the woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
A heavy wrecker from Hillside Towing responded to the scene to remove the heavily damaged car from the wooded area so it could be towed.
The Buffalo Grove Police Department said Tuesday they did not have information on what led to the crash.
No citations were issued because the incident occurred on private property.
