A man from Zion is in custody after he led officers on a high-speed chase reaching speeds of more than 115 mph over the border in Wisconsin Thursday morning.

The Kenosha Police Department began a pursuit around 2 a.m. Thursday of a reckless vehicle.

The pursuit was terminated as the vehicle entered into Pleasant Prairie, police officials said.

Pleasant Prairie officers quickly located the vehicle as it continued recklessly driving and initiated a pursuit.

Police officials said the pursuit lasted approximately four miles and reached speeds in excess of 115 mph.

The driver eventually surrendered when officers boxed in the vehicle and guided it off the road.

The driver, a 21-year-old Zion man, was taken into custody on felony charges.

He is being charged with fleeing to elude an officer, five counts of second-degree recklessly endangering safety and issued multiple traffic citations.

The Kenosha Police Department, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department and Wisconsin State Patrol assisted.

“A major thanks to the assisting & involved agencies in achieving this arrest,” Pleasant Prairie police said.
