No injuries were reported after firefighters quickly extinguished a fire that damaged a house in McHenry Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The McHenry Township Fire Protection District responded around 3:30 p.m. Sunday to the 300 block of Whitmore Trail in McHenry for a report of a structure fire.

McHenry Township Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Ryan Mastandrea said firefighters arrived within four minutes to find smoke showing from the rear of a home.

All residents were out of the two-story, single-family residence before firefighters arrived.

Fire crews found a small exterior fire on the back of the home, Mastandrea said.

Firefighters deployed a hose line to the rear of the house to extinguish the fire.

A search was simultaneously conducted inside the house.

Mastandrea said the fire was deemed under control within 10 minutes. There were no resident or firefighter injuries.
