Seven people were taken to the hospital with injuries after a minivan and sedan collided in North Chicago Wednesday morning, fire officials said.

The North Chicago Police Department and North Chicago Fire Department responded around 10:55 a.m. Wednesday to Green Bay Road and Buckley Road in North Chicago for a two-vehicle crash with injuries.

Emergency crews arrived and found a minivan and sedan involved in the crash, North Chicago Fire Department Battalion Chief Kim Schaefer said.

Both vehicles sustained moderate to heavy damage.

Schaefer said the minivan was occupied by five people and the sedan was occupied by two people.

Additional ambulances from the North Chicago, Libertyville, Waukegan and Lake Forest fire departments were requested to the scene for a total of five ambulances.

All seven subjects sustained minor injuries and were transported to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan and Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital, Schaefer said.
