A newly released video captured a Zion man who led officers on a vehicle chase that ended with him crashing into a squad, injuring an officer, before fleeing on foot into the woods.
The Pleasant Prairie Police Department released dashcam and bodycam video last week of the September 25 incident.
Officers located a vehicle that entered Pleasant Prairie after fleeing from another law enforcement agency.
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle but it refused to stop, the video showed.
A pursuit ensued and an officer setup spike strips along the path of the pursuit in an attempt to deflate the suspect’s tires.
The chase continued southbound on Green Bay Road and came to an end just north of the Illinois-Wisconsin state border.
Officers attempted to box the vehicle in but it struck one of the squads, leading to officers performing a PIT maneuver on the car to force it off of the roadway.
The driver, Dylonn J. Williams, 25, of Zion, fled out of the passenger side of the car and ran uphill into a wooded area, police officials said.
Officers chased down Williams and took him into custody in the woods.
He was charged with resisting an officer causing substantial bodily harm, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, obstructing an officer, felony bail jumping, vehicle operator fleeing and eluding an officer and hit and run of an attended vehicle.
The officer injured is doing well and back on patrol, police officials said.
Williams remains held in the Kenosha County Jail on a $45,000 bond.
