A 57-year-old man was arrested after police say they seized six guns and over 140 cannabis plants, along with a pound of marijuana, during a search warrant in Lakemoor.

The Lakemoor Police Department andย Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group executed a search warrant on Friday in the 600 block of West Sheridan Road in Lakemoor.

The search warrant was obtained after a confidential informant provided information to a Lakemoor police officer, police officials said.

Six firearms, 142 cannabis plants and more than 520 grams of cannabis were seized, police officials said.

The homeowner, Edward J. Smith, 57, was arrested following the search warrant.

Smith was charged with unlawful possession of more than 50 cannabis plants, a Class 2 felony; manufacturing or delivery of cannabis over 500 grams, a Class felony; and possession of cannabis over 500 grams, a Class 3 felony.

Smith was processed at the Lakemoor Police Department and transported to the McHenry County Jail.

McHenry County Judge Kevin Costello released Smith from custody with pre-trial conditions.

Smith was ordered to not leave the state, not possess weapons, surrender his FOID card, not consume alcohol or drugs and submit to random substance screenings.

Smith is scheduled to appear in court again on December 4 for a status of preliminary hearing.
