Officers captured a hiding suspect wanted for attacking and injuring a woman following an hour-long search involving a drone and a canine unit in Libertyville.

The Libertyville Police Department responded around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday to a residence in the 600 block of Meadow Lane for a domestic disturbance.

Police officers arrived and located a female victim and determined she suffered minor injuries, Libertyville Police Department Sgt. Dusan Racic said.

Officers learned that the male offender, Michael F. Knight, 47, of Palos Heights, fled the area on foot.

Racic said officers obtained a description of Knight and initiated a canvass of the surrounding area to locate him.

The female victim was evaluated by the Libertyville Fire Department and later released from their care.

Additional law enforcement agencies were requested to assist with searching the area.

Prosecutors said a perimeter was set up and a canine unit and a drone were used.
